Our Policies
Shop Policies
DC Grooming operates by appointment only. To ensure the comfort of your pet and the safety of our staff, we provide curbside drop-off and pickup services only. Please make sure your pet is secured with a properly fitting collar and leash during drop-off. If you are a first-time client and wish to tour the salon during your initial drop-off, please let your groomer know. For safety reasons, clients are not permitted to remain in the salon or assist with the grooming process. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Given the size and operational nature of our salon, we kindly request that all pets be picked up promptly after grooming is completed. If you anticipate needing to leave your pet for an extended period, please inform us in advance so we can confirm our ability to accommodate your request. As a smaller salon, we have limited kennel space. Any pets left after closing (5 PM unless otherwise specified by your groomer) may incur an additional late pickup fee.
Pricing
DC Grooming reviews its pricing annually, with any adjustments typically implemented in March. Additional price changes may occur throughout the year. For inquiries regarding new pricing for your pet, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Pricing may vary with each appointment based on the condition of your pets’ coat and the type of haircut requested or temperament of your pet. Additional fees may apply for matted coats, longer styles, and specialty cuts that require extra time.
Overdue Pets
Due to our limited availability and the challenges associated with grooming overdue pets, we request that all pets be groomed at least once every twelve weeks. Pets not seen within this timeframe may be classified as new clients, subject to the scheduling availability for new clientele. Please note that there may be times when we cannot accommodate new clients.
Liability Release
DC Grooming cannot be held responsible for any pre-existing conditions in your pet, including but not limited to heart disease, tracheal issues, skin conditions, matting, ear problems, etc. For the safety of your pet and our groomers, please inform your groomer of any pre-existing conditions or behaviors we should be aware of.
Cancellation Policy
At DC Grooming, we kindly request a 24-hour notice for any cancellations or rescheduling of appointments. If an appointment is canceled or rescheduled within this 24-hour window, a fee equivalent to 50% of the appointment cost will apply. If you find yourself running late, please reach out to us as soon as possible. Arrivals more than 15 minutes past the scheduled appointment time will be classified as a no-show and will also incur a 50% fee. All outstanding fees must be settled before scheduling a new appointment. If a client has two late cancellations, reschedules, or no-shows, full payment for the next appointment will be required at the time of booking. Please note that this payment is non-refundable if the appointment is missed or canceled/rescheduled without 24 hours' notice.
Matted Pets
DC Grooming cannot be held responsible for any issues that may arise during the grooming process due to matting. We are committed to making the grooming experience as comfortable as possible for your pet. Therefore, we do not brush out matted pets, as excessive dematting can be painful for them. We also cannot leave matting on your pet, as it can pull on the skin and hinder circulation. Consequently, removing matting may lead to bruising, hematomas, or skin irritation. After the removal, your pet might exhibit changes in behavior or increased itching, and there may be underlying skin conditions that become apparent only after the matting is addressed.
Senior Pets
DC Grooming is not liable for any medical issues that may arise during the grooming process due to a pet’s age. We consider pets over the age of 10 to be seniors. Grooming can be particularly stressful for some pets, especially older ones. We will take every measure to ensure that the grooming process is as smooth and stress-free as possible. If a pet becomes too stressed to continue, we will immediately halt the grooming session and recommend that the pet be seen by a groomer at a veterinary clinic for their safety. We reserve the right to request veterinary clearance if we determine that grooming poses a safety risk to your senior pets health.
Vaccination Policy
Effective July 15, 2025, the Pet Animal Care and Facilities Act (PACFA) has implemented new regulations regarding vaccination records for all grooming salons in Colorado. DC Grooming requires all clients to provide the following vaccination records for grooming services:
For Dogs: - Rabies - Distemper - Parvovirus
For Cats: - Rabies - FVRCP
If your pet is unable to receive any of these vaccines for any reason, PACFA mandates that you provide documentation from your veterinarian. For more information, please refer to PACFA’s website. (Include link to PACFA website).
Vaccination records must be submitted to us at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. You can text the records to (720) 419-9151 or e-mail them to [email protected].
Photo Policy
When you use our grooming services, you agree to allow us to feature your pet’s photos on social media or marketing efforts. If you do not want your pet’s images published publicly, please let us know so we can accommodate your request
